What we do
- Boarding and hanging. New walls and ceilings, basements, additions, renovations, new construction.
- Taping, mudding and finishing. Level 3 through Level 5.
- Board and tape as a package. Framing handed over, ready-to-prime surface handed back.
- Estimating and takeoffs for builders. Real quotes off a drawing set.
What we do not do
Drywall Dudes does not do repairs, patches, holes, cracks or popcorn ceiling removal. That work goes to Patch Dudes.
Drywall sheet sizes and what each one covers
A sheet of drywall covers its own area, so sheet count is the wall and ceiling area divided by the sheet size, plus an allowance for offcuts. In the GTA,Drywall Dudes boards most residential work in 4 ft by 12 ft sheets, because fewer seams means less taping and a flatter finished wall.
| Sheet size | Covers | Why it gets used |
|---|---|---|
| 4 ft by 8 ft | 32 sq ft | Standard. Easiest to handle in tight stairwells |
| 4 ft by 10 ft | 40 sq ft | Fewer butt joints on a standard 8 ft wall |
| 4 ft by 12 ft | 48 sq ft | Fewest seams. Needs the access to get it in |
Coverage is the sheet area. A 4 ft by 12 ft sheet covers 48 sq ft, so a 1,000 sq ft basement needs roughly 21 sheets for the walls and ceilings before offcut allowance.
